Dear Katherine,

I am so glad at at least you have decided what you want to do. Best of all I'm glad that you have decided to be a teacher and a primary teacher.

I have always felt , ever since you were a little tad, that you would make a good primary teacher. You have always loved helpless things. As a little girl, you wouldn't pass a stray dog without giving it a pat, if a stray cat came to the door, it had to be taken in, you couldn't stand it otherwise.

You love children and they love you. and I am confident that if you learn the techniques required, you will make a good primary teacher.

To me, teaching is the greatest calling next to the ministry. I believe that God calls a dedicated teacher as much as he calls the consecrated minister. A teacher deals with souls just as much so as the preacher. Sometimes I think more so. You will get to influence good numbers of little children, or young souls, which ever way you wish to look at it, long before a minister can hope to. to reach them.

You may wonder why I say this, but in my long experience, I have found that the teacher who can touch a soul of the little child can also teach him more 'readin, writin. and rithmetic' than one who only touches his bottom.

To me, and I think to you, there will be nothing so heart warming as a room full of eager little faces looking to "teacher' for help guidance and love. The day will be good for them because the 'Teacher' is there.

I thank God that you have come to this decision. I have prayed for a long time that God will guide you in choosing the right career.

Love,

Daddy
